Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about pricing, booking, what we collect, and how we keep your waste out of landfill.
Pricing & What's Included
How much does rubbish removal cost?
Mixed waste loads start from £140 for a Mini Load (2 yd³). Single items are priced per item plus a one-off £75 call-out fee per booking. Green waste starts from £150, wood waste from £180, and hardcore is a flat £250 for a full tipper load (up to 2 tonnes). You'll always see the full price breakdown before you confirm — no hidden charges.
What are the load sizes and prices for mixed waste?
We offer six load sizes, all priced by volume with a weight allowance included: Mini Load — 2 yd³, 150kg, £140. Small Load — 4 yd³, 300kg, £220. Medium Load — 6 yd³, 450kg, £300. Large Load — 8 yd³, 600kg, £360. Large+ Load — 10 yd³, 750kg, £410. Full Load — 12 yd³, 900kg, £450. All prices include labour, loading, and disposal — no call-out fee.
What is the £75 call-out fee and exactly when does it apply?
The £75 call-out fee is a single charge added to single-item bookings only — it covers the crew, van, and travel to your address. It's charged once per booking, no matter how many individual items you add. The call-out fee does NOT apply to load-size collections, green waste, hardcore, or wood waste — for those, the price you see is the price you pay. If you only have a few small items, a Mini Load (£140) may work out cheaper than per-item pricing plus the call-out fee — our booking system automatically suggests this if it saves you money.
Are there overweight charges?
Yes. Each load size includes a weight allowance (e.g. Mini Load includes 150kg, Full Load includes 900kg). For wood waste specifically, exceeding the allowance incurs a charge of £15 per additional 100kg. For other load types, if your waste significantly exceeds the weight allowance, our team will discuss the additional cost with you before proceeding — never after.
What special item surcharges apply?
Certain items carry additional disposal surcharges on top of the load or item price: Mattresses — £30 each. TVs and monitors — £18 each. Domestic fridges/freezers — £25 each. Commercial fridges — £48 each. Car tyres — £24 each. Commercial tyres — £38 each. POPs (Persistent Organic Pollutants, e.g. upholstered items containing certain fire retardants) — £15 for small items, £33 for large items. These charges cover the specialist recycling and processing these items legally require.
What other charges might apply?
Extended loading time is £15 per 15 minutes — this applies if the job takes significantly longer than estimated (e.g. items are difficult to access or dismantle). Waiting time is £15 per 15 minutes — this applies if our crew is kept waiting on-site. Difficult access is priced on inspection — we'll always tell you before we start, never after. Dismantling is available at £10–20 per item depending on complexity. Just mention any access or dismantling details when booking so we can give you an accurate quote.
What's included in the price?
Every price includes: the crew (typically two uniformed, DBS-checked professionals), the vehicle and fuel, all loading and carrying, responsible disposal and recycling, and a digital Waste Transfer Note for your records. There are no separate labour charges or environmental surcharges hidden in the price — what you see at checkout is what you pay.
Booking & Scheduling
Can I get same-day collection?
In most cases, yes — particularly for addresses in Rugby, Coventry, and surrounding towns. Book before 11am and we can usually have a crew to you the same day. Same-day collection is subject to availability — we'll confirm your slot within 30 minutes of booking during working hours (8am–6pm, Monday–Saturday).
What is the same-day cutoff time?
Book before 11am for same-day collection. Requests received after 11am are usually scheduled for the next available slot. We operate Monday–Friday 8am–5pm and Saturday 8am–3pm. Sunday collections are not available.
How far ahead should I book?
You can book same-day (before 11am) or schedule days, weeks, or months in advance — whatever suits you. For large jobs like full house clearances, we recommend booking a few days ahead to secure your preferred date and time slot.
How quickly will I hear back after booking?
We aim to confirm every booking within 30 minutes during working hours (8am–6pm, Monday–Saturday). Bookings submitted outside working hours are confirmed the next working day.
What if I need to reschedule or cancel?
Contact us on 01788 221978 as soon as possible — we'll do our best to accommodate changes to your date or time. For same-day bookings, please give us as much notice as you can. We don't charge a rescheduling fee when reasonable notice is given.
What if I'm not sure which load size I need?
Upload photos in the booking form — our team will review them and recommend the right load size. You won't be locked in; if a smaller load would work, we'll adjust the price down. You can also call us on 01788 221978 for guidance before booking.
Can I add more items after booking?
Yes. Just call or text us on 01788 221978 with your booking reference after submitting, and we'll update your quote. If the additional items change the load size, we'll let you know the revised price before collection.
What We Accept & Don't Accept
What types of waste do you collect?
We collect most non-hazardous waste including: household furniture (sofas, beds, wardrobes, tables, chairs), appliances (fridges, freezers, washing machines, dishwashers, TVs, cookers), mattresses, general mixed household junk, green/garden waste (soil, turf, branches, hedge trimmings), hardcore and rubble (concrete, bricks, tiles, stone), wood waste (timber, decking, fencing, pallets), builder's waste (plasterboard, construction debris), and tyres.
What can't you collect?
We cannot collect hazardous waste. This includes: asbestos, paint (liquid), solvents and thinners, chemicals, clinical or medical waste, gas bottles and canisters, oil and fuel, batteries (industrial quantities), and explosives or ammunition. These require specialist licensed carriers with different certifications. If you have items you're unsure about, call us on 01788 221978 before booking and we'll advise.
Can you collect fridges and freezers?
Yes — we collect domestic fridges and freezers (£25 disposal surcharge each) and commercial fridges (£48 each). These must be processed at specialist facilities to safely recover refrigerant gases, which is why a disposal surcharge applies.
Do you collect mattresses?
Yes — mattresses of any size carry a £30 disposal surcharge each, covering the cost of specialist recycling to separate the fabric, foam, and metal springs.
Can you take paint or chemicals?
No — liquid paint, solvents, thinners, and chemicals are classified as hazardous waste and require a specialist carrier with a different licence. Your local council tip will usually accept small quantities of household paint and chemicals for free. Please contact them for disposal.
Do you handle asbestos?
No. Asbestos is a hazardous material that requires a specialist licensed asbestos removal contractor. We are not licensed to transport asbestos. If you suspect you have asbestos, please contact a specialist asbestos removal company or your local council for guidance.
Access & On-Site
Do you charge extra for stairs?
For standard access (ground floor, or up to one flight of stairs), there's no extra charge. If access requires special effort — e.g. multiple flights of stairs, no lift, or carrying items long distances — we'll let you know the additional cost before we start, never after. Just mention access details when booking so we can give you an accurate quote.
What if there are parking restrictions at my address?
Our crews are experienced with restricted parking, permit zones, and narrow streets across our service area. If you have a permit zone, you may need to provide a visitor permit or temporary parking suspension — mention this when booking and we'll advise. If our crew incurs a parking fine due to inaccurate access information provided at booking, the charge may be passed on. For most residential addresses, we can park on-street without issue.
Do I need to be on-site during collection?
Ideally, yes — you'll need to confirm the job is complete to your satisfaction before payment. However, if you can't be present, we can arrange collection with prior agreement — just discuss this with our team when booking. We may ask for photos in advance and payment before collection.
What if my items need dismantling?
For single-item bookings, tick the "Dismantling required" box on each item — it adds £10–20 per item depending on complexity. For load-size collections, let us know in the description and our crew will bring tools. If dismantling takes significantly longer than expected, extended loading time charges (£15 per 15 mins) may apply — we'll always tell you first.
Do you clean up after collection?
Yes — our crew sweeps up and leaves the area tidy before they leave. This is included in the price at no extra charge.
Environment & Compliance
Are you licensed and insured?
Yes. We hold Environment Agency waste carrier licence CBDU521430, £5 million public liability insurance, and all our crew are DBS-checked. We provide full duty of care documentation including Waste Transfer Notes for every job.
What happens to my waste after collection?
We sort everything at our licensed transfer station. Over 95% of what we collect is recycled or repurposed — reusable furniture goes to charity, green waste is composted, metal is scrapped, and hardcore is crushed for aggregate. Only non-recyclable residue goes to energy-from-waste facilities, never straight to landfill. You receive a digital Waste Transfer Note for every collection.
What is a Waste Transfer Note?
A Waste Transfer Note (WTN) is a legal document required under UK waste regulations that records the transfer of waste from one party to another. It includes details of the waste type, quantity, the carrier, and the disposal facility. We provide a digital WTN for every collection — this is your proof that your waste was disposed of legally and responsibly. You should keep it for your records.
What is your recycling rate?
Over 95% of everything we collect is recycled or repurposed. We achieve this by sorting waste at our transfer station and directing each material type to the appropriate recycling facility — furniture to charity, green waste to composting, metal to scrap merchants, hardcore to aggregate crushers, and wood to biomass or reclamation.
Do you provide documentation for businesses?
Yes — for commercial and trade collections, we provide full duty of care documentation including Waste Transfer Notes for every job. This ensures your business meets its legal obligations under the Waste Duty of Care Code of Practice. Regular collection customers can request consolidated reporting.
Payment
When do I pay?
You don't pay anything when you submit a booking request — no payment is needed now. Once our team confirms the slot and price, you can pay by cash on or before collection day. Payment is due once the job is completed to your satisfaction.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash on collection. For commercial and trade accounts, contact us to discuss payment arrangements.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
No — submitting a booking request is free. There's no deposit and no payment required to book. You pay on or before collection day once the job is confirmed and completed.
Commercial & Trade Accounts
Do you offer commercial and trade accounts?
Yes. We work with businesses, landlords, estate agents, property managers, builders, and contractors across the region. Trade accounts get priority scheduling, agreed pricing, and monthly consolidated invoicing. Contact us on 01788 221978 or via our enquiry form to set up an account.
What commercial services do you offer?
We provide office clearance (furniture, electronics, confidential document shredding), commercial premises clearance, regular waste collections, builder's waste removal with duty of care documentation, and asset recovery. We work around your schedule — including evenings and weekends — to minimise disruption to your operations.
Do you offer regular scheduled collections?
Yes — for businesses with ongoing waste needs, we can set up regular scheduled collections (weekly, fortnightly, or monthly). Trade account customers get priority scheduling and agreed rates. Contact us to discuss your requirements.
Can you handle large commercial clearances?
Yes. For large-scale commercial clearances — offices, warehouses, retail units, or full property strip-outs — submit an enquiry via our commercial enquiry form or call 01788 221978. We'll arrange a site visit, provide a detailed quote, and schedule the clearance around your operational needs.
Do you provide duty of care documentation for businesses?
Yes — every commercial collection includes a Waste Transfer Note as standard, ensuring your business meets its legal obligations under the Waste Duty of Care Code of Practice. Trade account customers can request consolidated reporting and annual waste summaries for compliance records.
